More PRIDE in Our People
Our employees are meeting famous musicians, enjoying the employee picnic and more!
MedEvac and the Sax Man
On his way to Musikfest, saxophonist Kenny G (center) stopped in for a visit with the MedEvac flight crew at Lehigh Valley International Airport. A licensed pilot, the musician spent about one hour with MedEvac pilot Michael Twomey and flight nurse Kathee Geisner talking about flying and his musical career. He signed Geisner’s MedEvac helmet and even gave second-row tickets to an airport staff member.
Going Peanuts!
Nasoj, grandson of technical partner Walterine Watts, along with Serena (left), Wattsf colleaguefs daughter, were among 1,400 employees who gathered for the employee picnic at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. Employees and their families enjoyed cotton candy, roller coasters, water rides and the company of their colleagues and the Peanuts characters.
Educating Future Physicians
Sixteen LVHHN colleagues, including 11 doctors, recently participated in a day-long educational session at Penn State Hershey Medical Center for third-year medical students. The program introduced students to the operational side of delivering quality health care. Alison Clay, M.D., from Duke University, shared her own frightening patient experience to illustrate what can go wrong when caring for patients. Family medicine physician William Miller, M.D., (left) worked with students to identify the areas for improvement in her story and develop processes to resolve them.
Thank You, Soldier
After Virginia Lee’s son Peter (pictured here) went to Afghanistan, Lee (an administrator partner on 6B) wanted to send goods to her soldier and others serving abroad. So, her unit donated more than 14 boxes of hygiene products, imperishable food and more. The team has already received a thank-you card from one soldier in Iraq. If you would like to donate boxes of goodies on your own, visit Anysoldier.org.
